Our Experts

Currently we have a number of accredited Barrier Free Advisors who use their qualifications, experience and knowledge within councils, hospitals, disability organisations, mental health and social work, occupational therapy, architect and design companies, or they are independant consultants.

The New Zealand Building Act 2004 states that public buildings must provide access and facilities for people with disabilities.  Access requirements can appear complex and are often forgotten about when renovating an existing building, in a rebuild or in changing the use of a building.

Our Barrier Free Advisors are an invaluable source of information and will provide advice and guidance on how to build right the first time, thereby avoiding unnecessary additional cost which could be incurred in implementing later changes.  Their advice will maximise potential use of the building by all people.
