Barrier Free Advisors

Barrier Free Advisors (BFA's) are independent contractors who are accessibility experts.

If you would like further information on the accessibility of a new or existing public building, please contact a BFA in your area.

Services that a BFA may provide:

• To read plans and provide advice on the accessibility of a new and existing building
• Provide design solutions for compliance and best practice to new and existing buildings
• Undertake and Accessibility Audit or give a written report
• Short onsite consultations
• Give further information on accessibility requirements in the Building Act and Approved Documents
• Assist applications for Determinations to the Department of Building and Housing
• Give short presentations on what access means

Remember – providing access for people with disabilities to and within a public building is a legal requirement – approaching a BFA may safe you time and money in the long run!
