Assessment Criteria

The Barrier Free NZ TrustParticipants are given the opportunity to be assessed by the Barrier Free NZ Trust for Module 1 to 4.

Please ensure that you indicate on the registration form if you would like to be assessed, or notify the office prior to the seminar. The assessments are to be done in your own time after the seminar.

Assessments  can be used as a measure to check whether participants have achieved the desired learning outcomes. It provides a quality assurance and enhances learning.

The cost of completing the Assessments of Module 1 to 4 is $200+GST.

 

Module 1: Experiencing the Accessible Journey

In this assessment you will show your understanding of people's experience of the Accessible Journey and its barriers in the built environment.

  • Short answer test, take about 15mins.
  • Must be handed in within 2 weeks after the seminar.

Module 2: The Law, Access and the Accessible Journey

In this assessment you will show that you understand how the building law and regulations relate to access requirements and the Accessible Journey.

  • Short answer test, take about 15mins.
  • Must be handed in within 2 weeks after the seminar.

Module 3: Designing the Accessible Journey

You will demonstrate that you understand how an accessible built environment that complies with the relevant documentation is designed.

  • Take about 1 hour.
  • Reading of a plan of a public building. (Plan will be handed out at the seminar.)
  • Must be handed in within 1 month after the seminar

Module 4: Assessment of the Accessible Journey

You will demonstrate that you understand how to assess the Accessible Journey in the built environment using the Barrier Free Checklist, building legislations, and guidelines.

  • Trial audit report on the building you have audited in the practical exercise of the seminar.

  • Must be handed in within 3 months after the seminar

Certificate of Competence

Seminar attendees will get a Certificate of Competence for the 2-day seminar once they have successfully completed the Assessments for Module 1 to 4.
